These are the circuit boards I designed, programmed. that acquires surface electromyography (sEMG)
signals to be used to control prosthetics. Essentially, they read muscle signals and transmit this data wirelessly over Bluetooth. It is designed to be worn as an armband.
This project started out as a collaboration beween my project team (Cornell Engineering World Health) and Invictus BCI Inc., which I continued over the Summer
as an intern at Invictus BCI Inc.
In addition to designing this main circuit board, I was the project lead of the sEMG armband team, leading a team of 3.
Note: I have been given permission to post the material on this page
This is the current version of the board that can read 8 sEMG channels. I am currently working on this during a Winter internship at Invictus BCI.
This is the first version, which is nearly identical to Version 2, except it can only read 2 instead of 8 channels. This version is finished and is fully functional.
These are pictures of the board in the armband housing.
This is a video of a test of the device reading just the Ring Finger. As can be seen, it picks up no other finger except the Ring Finger.
